October 2008 On Tuesday 14th October 2008, 50 year 7 students participated in a Black History Month event with QPR called, 'Let's Kick Racism Out of Football'. Danny Edwards from QPR came to the school with professional football player Mikele Leigertwood to address issues of racism in the sport and how they could potentially be tackled. They then went outside and participated in football skills training, where they worked on their football skills, agility and endurance. This was enjoyable for all including the supporting staff who also took part. QPR also graciously gave the school a signed football which will be displayed in the school. QPR donated a first team signed football to the school, gave them 20 tickets for the next home game and there were 6 lucky students chosen to be on the front cover of the QPR match day programme dated 18th October. QPR won 2:1 against Nottingham Forest.
