While bowling in the PBA championship dbls match in June 1980 in Las Vegas at Showboat Lanes Marshall Holman was not happy with his ball reaction and kicked the housing off the foul light while on National TV. It earned him a pretty good fine and a 10 week suspension from the tour. His partner at the time was Mark Roth and looked like he wanted to go hide after it happened. Tommy Hudson and Pete Couture were bowling against them and Tommy went over to protest and a quick judgement call from Harry Golden ruled the housing was behind foul line so no foul. When Marshall has a seat Tommy pats him on the back to try to settle him a little bit even thou Marshall wasnt his partner. Marshall Holman kicks out foul |

Eighteen months in development, the new connexion coverstock has been fine-tuned to adhere to the lane providing unbelievable traction response from foul line to head pin. The Wild Ride pushes easily through the heads, staying on line to target on both light and heavy oil conditions; both when the lanes are freshly oiled or when theyve broken down. The wild side of the connexion coverstock comes alive when the ball reaches the end of the oil pattern and then aggressively connects to the back-ends. The traction created provides a strong recoil reaction to the pocket that results in the most angular skid-snap reaction ever produced in a Brunswick ball. The aggressive connection of the Wild Ride to the lane surface inspires the confidence in the ball reaction that allows bowlers to play the lanes the way they want to. Home video of Pete Weber throwing a 269 game during qualifying for the PBA 1997 Bud Light Classic. He was bowling next to the TV PAIR. Look at the line he is playing....insane! Bowling on the pair is Ricky Ward and Dave Wodka. Peter Hakim is also seen in this video at the end. Pba should use some of these views. Nice to see the angle of pocket entry. By the way.. The 3rd video from the Teesside Pirates Ten Pin bowling team. In filming for the first two videos we ended up with a lot of footage of us not doing particulally well, so we decided to put it into a video of its own. "When Bowling Goes Wrong" is proof positive that we're not as good as "The AZ of Celebrations" makes us seem. It's a light hearted video set to Stan Bush's classic "The Touch". Grotta Utopia is an amazing cave system, one can describe it briefly as "Door to the inner side of earth". After an approximately 30 minutes boat ride we reach an enormous rock formation where the cliffs reach heights of over 400 meters high. Right in front of such a cliff, we lower the anchor. The dive leads to 13 meters deep. The triangular entry, shaped out of solid rock glides down to a depth of 33 meters. The actual entry to the enormous cave system is located on the bottom of this shaft. Impressive halls appear out of nowhere and the first tunnel leads parallel with the cliffs on the coast until the cave finally leads in to the inner side of the mountain. The system gets larger as you continue as well as the depth (33 m slowly going down to 40m). The shape of the cave is almost cross round and the beam of the primary light hardly illuminates the inner walls of the system. After approximately 25 minutes we reach an impressively large hall in shaped as a bowling ball. The system goes deeper and the bottom reaches a depth of approximately 50 meters where the cave continues its path. This cave system is not suitable for just any cave diver and should only be visited by the experienced cave diver. The dive should be executed with several different gasses as the limits are reached fairly soon on compressed air resulting in long decompression. Utopia Cave Diving - protec Sa |

James Shamp, who had worked at Canoga Park Bowl about seven years, was shot outside the alley Dec. 22. Police believe the crime was racially motivated. - News Story By Ruben Vives January 22, 2009 At the Canoga Park Bowl, everyone knew James Shamp. His job was to clean, but he did so much more. Bowlers described him as a comedian and their loyal cheerleader. He greeted regulars with a big handshake followed by a succession of jokes that would continue through their games. Canoga Park bowlers mourn slain friend"He was the black Chevy Chase," said Robert Battle, a member of the Equally Offensive bowling team. . Three days before Christmas, Shamp was taking out some trash to the dumpsters behind the bowling alley when a car pulled up. According to police, a group of Latino gang members approached and shot Shamp, 48, in the chest. Friends heard the shots and ran outside, where they found Shamp lying face down. He died at a hospital. Los Angeles police detectives and prosecutors allege the gang members targeted Shamp because he was African American. The three suspects were each charged last week with one count of murder and conspiracy to commit a crime because of race. But nearly a month after the slaying, the bowling alley remains in mourning. On Tuesday evening, when the neon lights came on outside the bowling alley, Mary Mannon bent down to light votive candles in Shamp's memory. Others later stopped at the site and said a few words. "He was my bowling friend," said Russ ... James Shamp Memorial Doubles 1 |
