Kobe Bryant Greatness Personified I wanted to make a comprehensive 10 minute video filled with every aspect of Kobe's game. His flawless skill set, his dynamic style of play, and to fully illustrate what makes him so great. I have had the privilege of watching him play for a long time and I wished to condense his prime into a 10 minute video. There is a reason I consider this man the greatest player that has ever played this game. The most remarkable thing about the greatness of Kobe Bryant is that he wasn't as blessed as other have been athletically , yet he MAXIMIZED his abilities through the best work ethic in NBA history. Was he blessed to have Durant's 6''9 height, 7''7 wingspan? Was he blessed to Have Lebron's 6''8 , 260 lb frame+FT line /head over rim explosion? Was he blessed to have Tmac's unbelievable length? Was he blessed enough to have Jordan's huge hands+incredible leaping ability? Was he blessed enough to have Wade's or Rose's speed? The answer is no. He isn't the fastest, most athletically or genetically gifted player ever. He was a decent leaper with an unpolished game; a weak 17-year old bench player that loved the game of basketball. No one ever thought this kid would recover from his ultimate low "air ball moment" in Utah, yet he has proven everyone wrong by blossoming into the Greatest skill/talent/fundamental player the league has EVER seen. That's the charm of Kobe Bryant. He shows that through perseverance and enduring hard work, despite any ... Kobe Bryant - Greatness Person |

On the April 4 edition of msnbc's Imus in the Morning, host Don Imus referred to the Rutgers University women's basketball team, which is comprised of eight African-American and two white players, as "nappy-headed hos" immediately after the show's executive producer, Bernard mcguirk, called the team "hard-core hos." Later, former Imus sports announcer Sid Rosenberg, who was filling in for sportscaster Chris Carlin, said: "The more I look at Rutgers, they look exactly like the [National Basketball Association's] Toronto Raptors." mcguirk referred to the NCAA women's basketball championship game between Rutgers and Tennessee as a "Spike Lee thing," adding, "The Jigaboos vs. The Wannabees -- that movie that he had." Not a good day or night for Phil Jackson thanks to the NBA and Linas Kleiza. Jackson got fined $50000 for accusing the league of having a vendetta against Kobe Bryant, then lost a seventh straight game for the first time in his 16-year coaching career Thursday night when the Los Angeles Lakers fell to the Denver Nuggets 113-86. Kleiza scored a career-high 29 points and Carmelo Anthony had 26 as the Nuggets handed the Lakers their 13th loss in 16 games. "That's great when you've got a guy coming off the bench contributing the way he has," Allen Iverson said of Kleiza, who scored 24 against Sacramento on Sunday. "He never cares about starting or anything like that. When his opportunity comes, he's just always ready." Kleiza shrugged off his career night: "It was just one of those games where the shots were going down. Melo and Iverson were doing a great job sharing the ball," he said. Kleiza was doing a great job putting it through the hoops, hitting 10-of-13 shots, including 5-of-6 from the arc. Iverson couldn't have picked Kleiza out of a crowd when he came over from Philadelphia three months ago but said the second-year forward was the catalyst for the Nuggets' biggest win since the trade. "I didn't know who he was when I got here, but a nationally televised game, I think a lot of people around the world know who he is now," Iverson said. Iverson added 14 points and 13 assists and Marcus Camby had 11 points and 14 boards for the Nuggets, who moved into a tie with the ... Allen Iverson & Melo vs Kobe B |

ko8e.blogspot.com This video details the superior defenses that Bryant and other superstars have to go up against in the modern era of basketball. Unlike he 80's and 90's isolation brand of basketball, Kobe is the most doubled-teamed perimeter player in the history of the NBA. Zone is effective because it plays the percentages. It forces dominant players out of the paint and into lower percentage shots. It also forces great players to distribute the ball to the perimeter - where their role players will become forced into volume three point shooting. Zone is the most effective method of defense and is used around the world at almost every level. Zone is used in college basketball (NCAA) by most teams, and college is considered to be the 'purest' form of basketball. Zone defense is also used by most international teams and it was effective in beating the more athletic USA in the 2006 International Fiba games. If you don't take my word for it, why don't you take Bryant's. Here is an article from 2007 in which Bryant talks about modern zone defenses: "The rules are completely different now,'' said Bryant, comparing his era to Jordan's. "I've always been able to shoot the ball, but the rules have changed since he played in terms of playing a zone defense. You have to be a jump shooter now because there's no way you can get to the basket -- particularly myself because they just stack guys up. I wish we had the rules they had back in the day where you could isolate guys and you ... KBVSZD |
