This is a snapshot of some Summer '08 Chesapeake Bay Log Canoe racing on the Chesapeake tributaries taken with an Oregon Scientific ATC2K camera aboard the "Island Bird" with the exception of one shot from "Jay Dee" (thanks Mariana). These sailboats average about 30 feet in length and have a crew of 5 to 22 depending on size. Most are over 50 years old and some are over 100 years old. Log canoes were originally seafood harvesting workboats used on the Chesapeake. They get their name from the log construction of the original hulls, a feature still visible from within the cockpit, although they are now have a fiberglass outer skin. The canoes are capable of exceeding 12kts and in ideal conditions a log canoe can step up on plane. They are very narrow relative to length and are thus quite unstable. This requires the use of 10 to 15 foot wooden planks ("springboards" or just "boards") with crew weight in order to provide leverage against the rotational pressure of the massive sails. Log canoes do not have fixed keels in part because of the very shallow waters where they race. A total of perhaps 22 exist, of which about 19 can float, and of those 15 or so can race. There are approximately 11 that consistently compete during the summer racing season that occurs mainly in Saint Michaels, Maryland. Other races are held in Oxford and Chestertown, Maryland.

The World Strongest Man competition 1993 in Orange, France. The competition was good but it could have been tighter. Gary Taylor was in good shape and fully deserved the title. Logriders risk their lives in a rare and dangerous festival in Japan. It's log-riding Japanese style, which makes it far more exciting and a little bit dangerous. The race involves five to six men tumbling over a mountain top on a ten tonne log that comes crashing down a steep slope with no guarantees if the rider will still be on he log at the end of the road. Logriding in Suwa city, Nagano prefecture is believed to be a sacred ritual which goes back over a thousand years. It is common for a log-rider to fall and be crushed to death by an oncoming juggernaut during the race-- injuries are common and almost inevitable. Pretty good Log ride and pretty bumpy coaster

An informal visit with the crazy shooter Hickok45 while he plinks on his range with a Glock 21 and a .44 Magnum 629. Mainly some points I'd like to make for all my fine subscribers, the smartest people on YouTube! This might be the start of a Hickok45 Vlog; hence, the Vlog playlist I created.

We decided to hit this one spot we just found for some movnat training, the first of so many more to come. We tried to most of all the bases, we didint have any trees or much to balance or climb but the rest was well covered and we definitelly had a great time. We couldnt hlep do some flips and of course I had to get some sweet slowmo shoots in there. For roxys fans, she did hike and jumped quite a bit but didnt remember to get her on video. She continues to join us and mess around with us. Next time she will be featured as well, promise. Now go out there and train.

Rider: Jay Turcot Skis: 189 K2 Pontoons Myself, Scot and Kyle skied whistler following a 41cm overnight snow (which was preceeded by 81cm of snow the day before). We spent the day getting powder turns through the trees. My first day on my new K2 Pontoons and they were perfect for the occasion. No adjustment required! It was a rockin' day.
